Although the concept of social entrepreneurship is rather new in Romania, teenagers are attracted by the idea of getting involved in educational projects and even initiate a real social business that could impact the local community.
But due to their lack of business knowledge and experience, they often find themselves trapped within some myths and they fail to put into practice their ideas. They need encouragement and feedback or advice from people with practical experience from companies or real entrepreneurs.
For example, one such myth is related to the fact that social businesses operate only in the charity or social care sector, which is not that true. Social businesses can be related to any field and they can address different types of social problems, as long as they create a social impact within the community.
Romanian students involved within the Social Enterprise 360 project, found the motivation to make a difference and change some negative aspects from their community through social projects, which have potential to create new jobs for disadvantaged people, contribute to social cohesion, employment and to the reduction of inequalities.
